Wilson's Ciderhouse & Farm Market

A longtime Iowa City institution that includes a farmers’ market, orchards, vegetable patches, event space, restaurant, and cidery, Wilson’s Orchard is planning a second location in the Des Moines agri-hood community of Middlebrook, south of Des Moines metro. The client wanted to provide an agricultural experience that appeared to be there for many years. With the use of reclaimed barn lumber, SHYFT designed a building that appears to be an old barn in a field. Customers will have opportunities to pick produce at the orchards and vegetable patches, shop for items in the farmers’ market, enjoy lunch and happy hour in the restaurant/bar, and listen to live music on the outside deck. The event space will be a perfect setting for weddings and special events.
